Hennepin Theatre Trust's Made Here project transforms underused and unique spaces in Minneapolis — between Hennepin Avenue’s 5th and 10th streets — with art created by Minnesota artists.
Since it launched in 2013, Made Here has produced more than 360 window displays in downtown’s commercial spaces – making it the largest initiative of its kind in the country.
The Illuminated Reef installation was part of Made Here's tenth round, Avenues, featuring the works of local community organizations and select alumni artists from past Made Here runs. Their works bring to life the theme “avenues” — a way of approaching a problem or making progress toward something — through large-scale photo banners and vibrant window displays.
